LEFORT, Georges (1875-1954). "Guingamp, the church" (1900). Red pencil and watercolour. 48 x 31.4cm. Located, dated (August 1900) and signed lower right. The Notre-Dame du Bon-Secours church in Guingamp, listed as a Historic Monument since 1914. Georges Robert Lefort was born in Paris in 1875 and died in Guingamp in 1954. Student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he settled as an architect and urban planner in Guingamp in 1906. He was architect of the City of Rennes, ordinary architect of Historic Monuments, architect of the Hospices Civils de Rennes, architect of the City of Guingamp. We also owe him several buildings in Saint-Brieuc or Dinan; he worked on the restoration of several churches in Brittany.
