18th Century Aubusson Tapestry Panel. flag

Object description :

"18th Century Aubusson Tapestry Panel."
- Aubusson tapestry panel in wool and silk from the 18th century.

-This tapestry gives us a glimpse of an exotic decor in which a column of flowering plants develops over the entire height with a pagoda on the right, two characteristic elements of exotic landscapes in the "taste of Pillement". A couple of positioned characters animates the scene.

-This tapestry offers a rich color palette with shades of beige punctuated with blues/greens. The gaze, attracted by the red of the characters' clothes, is then taken on board by the flowering plant column. It is enriched with a border decorated with a garland of rolled flowers.

- Good state of conservation, one area shows wear (see the last photo).

-A note: on the top, the tapestry is folded on itself over 10 cm with a concern for aesthetic coherence (reversible) Lined, Velcro strip sewn on the back at the top, ready to be hung.
