Known and renowned French painter, specialized in landscapes in the Barbizon School movement, his favorite subject, Breton and Norman ports, as well as the North Sea and the Alpine villages. In 1855, Kuwasseg exhibited regularly at the Salon where he obtained numerous awards, thereafter he became a professor of Art. He masters the art of contrast and demonstrates great finesse in his execution. Many of his works are kept at the Museum of Fine Arts in Rouen, Rennes, Fécamp, Musée des Pêcheries and at the Maltwood Art Museum Canada.
