The work depicts San Sebastiano in the center, the naked body is covered by a white drape at the waist. The angels do their utmost to help him, extracting his arrows.

San Sebastiano: soldier originally from Gaul, who moved to Milan and enlisted in Diocletian's army, converted to Christianity and took advantage of his position to help other Christians locked up in prisons and for this he was sentenced to death by the emperor. He was tied to the column and subjected to martyrdom by shooting arrows, here he is represented without his captors but with angels who heal his wounds (in popular tradition the saint's wounds were compared to those of Christ.
