Raymond Dalifard is a painter born in 1901 in Châteauneuf sur Sarthe. This artist paints by instinct, developing a very personal technique and style. Dalifard is marked by the fights of the avant-gardes of the 20th century and has succeeded in finding his own way, totally original and outside the groups and schools that abound around him. If he always remains close to the subject he treats, Dalifard transforms it by stylizing the volumes, flattening them and simplifying them in order to bring out their essence. He does the same for colors, which gives canvases inhabited by large areas of intense colors, with a smooth surface. Dalifard successfully presents his paintings every year at the Salon des Indépendants. After the Second World War, he exhibited at the Salon des Surindépendants. He died in 1975. In 1976, the Salon des Indépendants devoted a retrospective exhibition to him, where six paintings, only six but carefully selected for their significant character, bear witness to every aspect of his creative temperament.
