Louis XVI style cast Fine ormolu bronze clock set with cercle tournant movement and enamel rotating circles. The three gracious daughthers of Zeus are connected by a garland of rose budds and are holing a black spherical globe in their hand, on top of wich Armor triumphantly raises a torch. White marble plinth with bronze ornaments on bronze feet. In 18th century art the three graces were personifications of friendship and were adversaries of Armor, who symbolized the longing love, who often brought disaster. The three becme his techers, who when he behaved well, carried him triumphantly. This subject theme is taken from F. Boucher’s famous painting “The Graces and Amor” (1768/69 Louvre Paris).
