"Jacques-michel Dunoyer (1933-2000), Large Painting With A Bouquet Of Flowers"
DUNOYER (Jacques-Michel), painter born June 20, 1933 in Arras and died January 23, 2000 in Monaco (Éc. Fr). Post-impressionist painter working in oil, he chooses nature, landscapes from France and elsewhere and bouquets of flowers as his source of inspiration. Self-taught, it was by showing his first paintings to the great Parisian dealer Armand Drouant, who strongly encouraged him to persevere, that he settled in 1964 in his studio in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, rue Grande, where he will remain until his death in 2000. His first exhibitions at the Saint-Paul museum, in Paris, Cannes then at the Mont d'Arbois gallery at the Rothschilds in Megève, will open the doors of notoriety to him. Very quickly, big names flocked to the small workshop, members of royal courts, artists, businessmen or collectors including: Prince Nikita Romanov, Dom Jaime of Spain, Prince al Khalifa, Saul Chaplin, James Stewart, Barbara Streisand etc. … It was Robert Wagner and Nathalie Wood who, having become friends, would open the doors of all of Hollywood to him by offering him a private exhibition at their home in 1969 in Los Angeles. These are images of serenity, happiness and harmony that will leave a strong imprint of his work. This very pretty painting, an oil on canvas, depicting a bouquet of flowers is representative of his talent. It is signed by the artist's hand at the bottom right (the letter G was added from 1966 in homage to his wife Gwendoline) and dated (19)78. Dimensions: Size 30F. Height 92cm.
