Pair of unsigned oils on panel, each bearing a cartouche marked "G.Ringelmann 1833" depicting landscapes depicting soldiers and horsemen under the first empire. The first painting depicts three horsemen who appear to be Polish lancers on their galloping mounts against a very finely painted background of a distant landscape. The second painting represents, in a cloud of dust, two galloping horses mounted by their riders, sabers drawn, following a cartage which could be an ambulance and overtaking infantry. These paintings are presented in their Empire frames decorated with palmettes in scallops, enhanced with a row of pearls, gilded with gold leaf.
