Chiffonier table in cherrywood from the Directoire period, Pretty living room furniture called chiffonnière table opening with 3 drawers in front and equipped with a crotch shelf is in solid cherrywood and dates from the end of the 18th century, beginning of the 19th century, period Directory. This chiffonier table is made entirely of solid wood, assembled with pegged mortise tenons, there is a nice turning work with a beautiful foot end, the drawer fronts are framed with molded applique strips, the top and the shelf are equipped with small wooden strips forming a rim on 3 sides. The 3 drawers are made of poplar with the exception of the fronts which are in cherry wood, the debited woods are thick and assembled with dovetails, the bottom slides in groove, the locks are posterior, the bronze keyholes are old but later, the interior of the drawers is covered with an old wallpaper. The cherry wood of which this small piece of furniture is made is of good quality, there are no xylophage holes, the wood has a beautiful waxed patina. The set is in good condition.
