"Soliflore, Philippe Wolfers, Art Nouveau, Sterling Silver"
Lovely soliflore vase in solid silver from the hand of the famous master goldsmith, sculptor and jeweler Philippe Wolfers. It is one of a range of objects he created at the end of the nineteenth century and which all have in common their unusual and at the same time natural sober forms. They all have as the only decoration a flower or a fruit on its "natural" stem pushed back into their smooth surface. In this case, Wolfers chose to decorate the small vase with a pansy, a flower that has always had a loving and romantic connotation. On the bottom we find the goldsmith's hallmark of Philippe Wolfers, the Belgian guarantee hallmark and the German guarantee hallmark because the majority of Philippe Wolfers' Art Nouveau style objects were intended for the German market. Our small vase weighs 70 grams.
