Rare 16th century chest lock in perfect working order.
Entirely in wrought iron, with remnants of gilding.
Decoration of columns with ionic capitals, one serving as a cover for the entry of the lock, the two ends serving to fix the plate to the piece of furniture.
Complex key with drilled shank and bit with a fleur-de-lys profile. Very slight remains of gilding also on the key.
The lock turns perfectly on two turns.
