Our painting is listed as having been exhibited in 1908 in Bordeaux at the Vincent Imberti gallery under number 42- England: The port of Saint Yves Cornouailles (ref book: "William Laparra 1873-1920, Catalog of the exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Bordeaux , exhibition from January 10 to February 23, 1997, 1996, 92 p.) A pupil of Bouguereau, Robert-Fleury and Lefebvre, William Laparra trained at the Académie Julian in 1892 and won the Prix de Rome at the age of 22 years with his work The Pool of Bethsaida The works of William Laparra are preserved in several national museums (Musée d'Orsay, Musée du Louvre (dessins), Musée des Beaux Arts de Poitiers, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, Musée de la Piscine à Roubaix...)
