Pupil of the sculptor Prosper Lecourtier, he exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1910 to 1914. Member of the Salon des Artistes Français, Fiot obtained a 3rd medal in 1911, then a 2nd medal in 1913. Animal artist, Fiot also participated in the wars, like many of his colleagues, to the production of war memorials. In 1930, he produced for the town of La Ferté-Alais, where his mother lived, "The Lion watching over the children who died for the Fatherland". Animals are his main subjects: birds, dogs, cats and other wild animals such as wolves, deer, lions or panthers. Fiot's style is very modern, dynamic and refined, differentiating him from other sculptors of the time, whose more static works imprinted with the Art Deco style. Fiot's bronzes are noticed by the observation of movement, giving his subjects a striking vitality and verisimilitude. The deer is in excellent condition and its brown patina is intact and original.
