"Two Lovely Chaplain Purses Steel Beads Bag XIXth Century"
Two purses in fine crocheted lace embroidered with steel beads, the first, ecru, long and flexible, decorated with flowers on the stem and steel bead pompoms at the ends. It closes with two large faceted sliders in polished steel. The second in the shape of a small bag in burgundy and green lace adorned with steel beads closing with a twisted silk trimmings tie ending with two lovely little tassels in the same mixed colors. These delicate steel objects intended for ladies' toilets were very fashionable during the first half of the 19th century. Several Parisian manufacturers shared the French market. Dimensions: The first: length: 29 cm with the pompoms and 19 cm without the pompoms The second: length: 24 cm with the trimmings and 11 cm without the trimmings Good condition.
