Country atmosphere for this composition with scenes of rural life in which many characters evolve: around a cottage, a herd of sheep and its guardian, and riders approaching under a clump of trees, in the background a lake landscape with a village coast and mountains. Probably intended for a door top, this oil on canvas has its old frame with a thin golden rod. Conservation measure the work is relined and the frame has been restored. 18th century period.
