“reading In The Park" By Stuart G. Davis (britsh Pre - Raphaelite, Active 1893-1917 In London)

This scene with a young beauty reading while walking in the garden was executed in 1903 by the British genre painter Stuart G. Davis in the style of the famous Pre-Raphaelite movement.
The artist worked in London from 1889 to 1917 and exhibited his works during this time through exhibitions in Birmingham, ROBAL Society of Artists and in Liverpool, Walker AG. His genre paintings were very popular at that time and many of them were published as postcards. Similar works by this artist fetch high results at international auctions (see additional images).
