Object description :

"Pair Of Lacquered Wood Panels Inlaid With Jade And Soapstone. China 20° Century."
Pair of lacquered wooden panels inlaid with jade and soapstone. The first is decorated with antiques, the second with foliage and birds. The sculptures are of very good quality. The wooden frames as well as the lacquered bottoms are from the end of the 20th century but we believe that elements were recovered from old broken furniture and were reused here, as evidenced by the small wooden panels decorated with bats and mother-of-pearl inlays that are 19th century or earlier. They can be sold separately, the one with the elephant being the most expensive. 131x71cm. They are very heavy. There is wear, some light scratches and small bumps from use. There is no restoration, no lack. They are very decorative panels with superb well-balanced designs, aesthetically far superior to what can usually be seen on the market.
