Born in 1955, Philippe Burlet is passionate about mechanics (motorcycles and vintage cars) and painting. He brings together his two passions through his motorsport scenes. Self-taught, he began to make himself known in particular thanks to an order from the Parisian watchmaker Eric Hamdi who asked him to compose watches and cars. “I try to take the photos of the cars myself. For watches, I use magazines or advertising documents. Then I make a pencil drawing and then I paint with a brush. The gouache is applied on Velin d'Arches in a format of 60 x 80 cm, in general. It takes me about fifteen days to complete a painting”. He most often works to order and appreciates all brands as long as they arouse emotion.
