Alfredo Barbini was born in 1912 and is to this day considered one of the most prestigious masters of the 20th century.
From an early age he embarked on the path of glassblowing; first at the Zecchin Martinuzzi glassworks (1932 - 1936) where he learned the technique of working solid glass from the sculptor Napoleone Martinuzzi, then at the V.A.M.S.A. (Vetreria Artistica Muranese Società Anonima) glassworks where he refined his technique.
In 1946 The master became director of the Gino Cenedese furnace, here he worked for four years.
In 1950 he founded the Vetreria Alfredo Barbini where he could give free rein to his mastery and creativity.
