Antique Charles X French Showcase From The 19th Century

French Charles X showcase in precious exotic woods with maple fillet inserts.

The front part is composed of a glass door having a glove box shape richly inlaid with a leafy motif. In the underlying part there is a large drawer also inlaid with the original key and lock of the time.

The shelves and the interiors are in solid maple, synonymous with great quality.

Historical notes: The decorations preferred by Charles X were more delicate than the ornaments of the Empire style, with a tendency to soften and refine the forms. Comfort became an essential aspect to look at, while the typical grandeur of Empire furnishings was set aside...
