Object description :

"Old Tabriz Around 1950, Persian, 228 X 330 Cm, Hand-knotted Kork Wool In Iran In Very Good Condition"
This Tabriz circa 1950 in hand-knotted kork wool, toise 228 cm wide x 330 cm long in good condition with superb decor.
This carpet is very clean, the soft and thick wool knotted admirably and tightly reveals shades full of contrasts, a field and abundantly worked borders.
The shades of red, pale blue and straw yellow, cream underline this skilful floral design in the great tradition of Persian art, inspired by the miniatures of the school of Tabriz, then capital of the Persian Empire.
The fringes are clean and in good condition and finish this carpet of very good quality.
Kork wool is the softest wool, taken from under the belly and neck of lambs.
This carpet dates from the 1950s, is in good condition, showing slight wear.
The borders, essential elements of carpets, are for our model, of a rare elegance.
.Its quality and tones are very beautiful. These carpets are sometimes treated with animal fat (lanolin), which makes them silky and shiny.
This carpet has an intense color, the dark red tone very present and dominant, reinforces the designs and other shades Tabriz (Azeri: Təbriz/ تبریز, formerly Tauris), is the capital of the province of East Azerbaijan, in the north- western Iran (Iranian Azerbaijan).
It lies on the course of the Talkheh River (also called Aji-Chāi), near Lake Urmia, close to the borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Tabriz is the door of Persia from north to west, Tabriz carpets have an extreme importance in the quality of Persian carpets and a wonderful international reputation.
The Tabriz are among the most popular carpets in the world, their work is always very fine and durable over time.
The decor of the Tabriz has irradiated all the carpet-producing countries, so high-quality are the boxes of these carpets.
This rug has been professionally and environmentally cleaned. For more information you can reach me on 06 13 36 09 30 or on winsteinprovence@gmail.com
