"L. Marreglia : "louis XIII Interior With Tables""
L. Marreglia (19th-20th century): "Louis XIII Interior with Paintings", oil on slightly convex hard cardboard 63 X 40 cm, mounted in a beautiful inverted slope gadrooned frame 76 X 54 cm from Maison Fantini-Fiume (small accident ). Circa 1910. I really like these "interior landscapes" from which it looks like the occupant has just left, giving us access to an intimacy revealing his temperament... Here, this room with walls hung with crimson damask adorned with numerous paintings with frames gilded, with austere and masculine furniture whose only concessions to comfort seem to be this carpet with rebellious folds and the cushion to soften the stiffness of the seat on which the Master of the room had settled down to contemplate an album of prints abandoned on a small table.
