"Louis XVI Chiffonniere Table In Mahogany"
Chiffon table in solid mahogany and mahogany veneer. Parisian work from the Louis XVI period, late 18th century. It opens with three drawers. Mahogany burl embellishes the drawer fronts and four vertical rectangular reserves which give rhythm to the "drum" shape of this table. The fluted legs are supported by connecting dice with reserves and end in tops. They feature an ornamentation of gilt bronze rings and clogs. The top is in gray-veined white Carrara marble. It is surrounded by an openwork gallery in gilded bronze. A marble crotch shelf, in the shape of a kidney, completes the set. It is also surrounded by an openwork gallery in gilded bronze.
