"Important 19th Century Castle Fireplace Screen"
Important fireplace screen in carved walnut, the uprights decorated with fruits, ribbons and acanthus leaves rest on a scrolling and foliage base joined by a carved baluster crosspiece. The high crosspiece is surmounted by a pediment sculpted with two cherubs framing a medallion numbered G A. Beautiful petit point tapestry, and the back is lined with a canvas printed with a bird and a vase. Work from the second half of the 19th century, in the style of the 17th century.
