"Clock With Glazing In Mahogany Signed Douillon 1840"
Voluminous, magnificent and rare glass cage clock stamped on the mechanism "Douillon a St-Nicolas", watchmaker referenced in the Tardy on the date of 1840. Charles X period

Architecture four columns in mahogany veneer and inlaid with gilded brass nets the whole is covered with a magnificent varnish to the buffer providing protection, contrast and shine.

The space between the columns is occupied by large glazed surfaces revealing its interior also in mahogany, a large and magnificent dial in silvered bronze formed on two levels, the lower part of which reveals the escapement of the movement with its anchor equipped with red agate. Surrounding the dial in gilded bronze. Imposing precision Berthoud balance wheel adorned with a patinated bronze disc to match the dial.

An unusual feature, the front and rear glass can be removed and slid from the upper part by removing the imposing cornice to gain access to the mechanism. Very thick old glass, therefore very resistant.

Large original mechanism without modification, ringing of the hours and half-hours on an old bell.
