Low relief in ivory by Voltaire seen in profile. The sculpture is very expressive, very well done; We immediately recognize the great writer of the 18th century by his mischievous look, his long curly hair, his aquiline nose and his slightly clogged chin. The portrait is within a bronze-rimmed oval; it is fixed on a "duck" blue silk, which highlights the ivory bas-relief.
