"Gramophone Music Cabinet "
Magnificent music cabinet accompanied by its gramophone "The voice of his master" in perfect working order. This breast-height piece of furniture has a rising top, held by a caliper with a working hook closure. Inside we find a record player rotated by a spring motor that we go up beforehand with the crank present on the side of the cabinet. On the arm, a reading head is annotated with the following inscriptions: “The Gramophone co.Limited – Made in USA” On the Cabinet appears the logo with the inscription “La voix de son maître” representing a dog listening to a phonograph. The Cabinet has a slightly curved front, like its doors fitted with hinges and knobs in striated bronze. These two doors are in lightly browned oak inlaid with lemon tree marquetry and ebony elements such as the edge of the lid with its vertical alternation of different types of wood. The doors open revealing a mouthpiece for sound amplification. In the lower part, a space comprising a tray allows the installation of the discs. The feet are sheathed and end with brass shoes fitted with wheels. The sides of this music cabinet are also in oak embellished with lemon and ebony. In the rear part, a framed door with brass hinge and bronze button opens allowing access to the gramophone mechanism.
