Object description :

"Spectacular Altarpiece In Golden Wood - Nineteenth"
This altarpiece is spectacular. In gilded and richly carved wood, it was once placed high up, dominating the place with all its presence.
It overlooked the altar on which rested the tabernacle whose door here features a ciborium.
This is how it will have to be replaced and not on the ground as we currently present it.

In the center is a niche with its four Corinthian columns, topped with a magnificent architectural and very ornate canopy.
Our tempietto hosts a plaster statue of Saint Vincent de Paul (1581-1660). Hand on heart and head bowed in a sign of humility, Saint Vincent overlooks the tabernacle covered with a canopy.
Which tabernacle, protected by two angel heads in high relief is covered with finely chiseled roses.
The majestic canopy, with many decorations of vines and grapes, is topped by a radiant cross surrounded by two eagles, symbolizing Christ and John the Evangelist.
On either side of this alcove, on two preciously worked panels, are two praying angels facing each other.

Finally, framing the set previously described, are two symmetrical niches receiving two reliquary hunts.
Only these two hunts are in bronze. They are in perfect condition.

Our two twin niches are crowned with a red and gold crown symbolizing, without doubt, the crowns of Life and Glory.

Note various gaps, especially on the cross and wing of one of the angels.

The dimensions of the set are 352 cm long by 265 cm high and 52 cm deep.
The dimensions of the hunts are 42 cm long by 27 cm and 24 cm
