"Louis XVI Dauphin - Pair Of Gilt Bronze Sconces Souvenir Royal Royalist"
Pair of two-armed gilt bronze sconces with dolphins and fleur-de-lys trophies These sconces are beautiful 19th century copies of rare sconces made in Paris between 1770 and 1774. At the top they bear the attributes of the Dauphin, the future Louis XIV. On one of the crossed flags decorated with fleurs-de-lys we can read the initials "LA" for his first name Louis-Auguste. The original was therefore made between the death of his father the Dauphin Louis in 1765 and his accession to the throne in 1774. Asymmetrical branches of laurel and oak. It is not yet known who commissioned the original of these pieces. Partially pierced with electricity. Very good condition. Height 47 cm Width 21 cm
