Large pair of two-light wall lights, Regency style Gilded bronze with varnish French work from the mid-19th century, inspired by the Regency models by Gilles-Marie Oppenord Height ~54 cm Width ~42 cm Prof. ~20 cm ----- This impressive pair of sconces features a couple of anguiped newts, with tormented branch arms supporting the lights. ----- Good general condition. Some traces of greenish oxidation, as often on these varnished bronzes. Binets and cups formerly drilled for electricity [removable electrification, without damage to the bronzes]
