Beautiful 19th century painting, oil on canvas signed lower right Ceramano, representing the departure of the herd from the sheepfold, in the background, a sheepdog guiding the exit of the sheep. A renowned painter, Charles Ferdinand Sermain is a Belgian artist who worked in the studio of Narcisse Diaz, before taking up residence in Barbizon and worked on the motif of animal scenes and daily life. Oil on its original canvas (an old restoration of very good quality on the left edge of the painting), in its original frame (some missing moldings) and its cartridge, all in good condition, see photos.
