Old patinated bronze sculpture. Very nice antique green patina. Subject depicting the bust of the legendary aviator Jean Mermoz. Sculpture signed by the artist Alexandre Ouline. Very good quality of execution, stylized lines typical of Art Deco; Black marble terrace. 46cm wide and 39cm high. Very good condition Jean Mermoz, born in Aubenton (Aisne) on December 9, 1901 and disappeared in the Atlantic Ocean on December 7, 1936, is a French aviator, legendary figure of Aéropostale, nicknamed the "Archangel". He was also one of the founders in 1936 of the French Social Party (PSF) with Colonel de La Rocque. Alexandre OULINE Belgian sculptor active from 1918 to around 1940. Well known for his Art Deco sculptures.
