"Duck Hunt By Carl Friedrich Deiker (german, 1836 - 1892)"
This hunting painting  was executed in 1879 by the very good listed German animal painter Carl Friedrich Deiker (1836 Wetzlar - 1892 Düsseldorf). He comes from a family of famous landscape and animal painters; first study by father in Wetzlar, then at the Drawing Akademy Hanau, since 1858 at the Karlsruhe School of Art under jWSchirmer, here his first monumental hunting painting (Estate of Great Herzog of Baden), in 1850 traveled for study in Reinhardswald, from which came two large boar hunting scenes, one of which was purchased by Grand Prince Mihail of Russia, and the second - by Margrave Max of Baden. In 1861 he moved to Karlruhe in his own studio. In 1864 he moved to Düsseldorf, where he worked for 4 years with his older brother Johannes Christian D. His hunting scenes were more dramatic and even less in contrast to the animal works of his brother Johann Christian Deiker. In Düsseldorf he immediately attracted a lot of attention with his painting published in 1868: "Victims of Red Deer", which came into the possession of the Grand Duke of Odenburg. D. breaks first a very big train in the art of animal paintings based on an old Dutch tradition, mainly on the model of Snyder. Unlike his brother, the animal usually depicted in a state of rest, he loved strong movements, masterfully portrayed the desperate struggle of game. His favorite animals were Wildssau, the deer and the dog. Since 1870 he has shot prestigious academic exhibitions in Berlin and Dresden, international art exhibitions in Munich and exhibitions in Düsseldorf and Hanover. He also worked as an illustrator for famous magazines. Works: Wallraf-Richartz-Museum in Cologne; City of Dueseldorf Picture Gallery; Hamburg Kunsthalle; Karlsruhe Kunsthalle. In 1892 - exhibition on the memory of personality in Düsseldorf.
