Beautiful pair of crystal cone vases finely engraved with bindweed and falling foliage forming a large garland. Their base cut at the edge is in gilded brass with a cloisonné decoration in raised fields. Its stylized floral decoration on a black background is characteristic of the work of Maison Alphonse Giroud, "the merchant of princes". Maison Giroux was created in 1799 and disappeared in 1885.
