Sculpted work by artist Frédéric BARNLEY for Maison Christofle. Born in France in 1954, he graduated in Applied Arts and was a student of Serge Mouille. Creator and sculptor, he has been the subject of a multitude of exhibitions. This work, in hammered silver metal, represents a stylized horse's head. It was produced as a New Year's gift from Maison Christofle in 1990, for important public figures (source: Christofle Museum and Archives service). Signature engraved by the artist on the back of the head. Underneath the work is an inscription “with my best wishes 1990 my very best wishes. Bouilet”. Albert Bouilhet Charismatic President of Christofle from 1969 to 1993. During this period, Christofle solicits from 1970 painters, sculptors, architects & designers to create original works each time on the occasion of Christmas or New Year.
