"Timpani In Silver France XVIII Century Around 1763"
Silver beaker in the shape of a tulip, the edge is molded with fillets. Timbale rests on a circular foot embellished with a frieze of ovals and interlacing. The cut is shared at mid-height by two double nets separating two ornamental registers. In the lower part are chiselled three baskets of rose flowers surrounded by cut-out leather which alternate with checkered patterns and festoons of roses. Under the molded neckline runs a frieze of volutes and festoons of roses, chiseled on a matte background. Paris 1763 The hallmarks are perfectly legible: **Large load hallmark, letter date 1763, discharge hallmark, a special hallmark for chance objects put back on the market around 1798 Master Goldsmith hallmark: Henri Nicolas de Brie, Paris, master receipt in 1758 Height: 11.5 cm Neck diameter: 9.2-9.5 cm Foot diameter: 5.5 cm Weight: 157 gr
Considering the age of this timpani, the condition of its structure, surface and ornamentation is considered to be very good.
