CARDELLA Tony (1898-1976)

"Ile Rousse (Corsica)"

Oil on canvas,
Signed lower left,
Titled on the back by the artist: "Ile Rousse (Corse)"

Beautiful luminous work by the Corsican painter, Tony Cardella, who represents a view of Ile Rousse in Corsica by a summer sun.

Attached to his roots, Tony Cardella will not stop through his painting to represent landscapes of the Island of Beauty and its inhabitants.
Its bright and colorful palette perfectly transcribes the colors of the shores of the Mediterranean.
In 1941, the artist completed admirable paintings for the interior of the Franciscan Church of L'ile Rousse, restoring this place of worship to its primary function of contemplation and prayer.
He participates in many exhibitions both in mainland France and in Corsica, where his talent is rewarded and hailed by critics.

Dimensions: 46 x 55 cm without frame and 63 x 71 cm with its beautiful original wooden frame (a nail hole should be noted on the frame).
