"Tabriz Wool Carpet, Iran, Circa 1930."
Tabriz rug made of high quality extra fine wool, of Iranian origin, around the year 1930, i.e. the beginning of the 20th century. A ruby-colored field with a turquoise-colored corolla and voluted flowers, hosting a ruby counter-field with a mandorla medallion in old pink and beige, in the center a starry cruciform flower. The whole is covered with a fine trellis of polychrome floral stems. The blue border is a succession of flowers resting on their stems. Consists of a density between 7000 to 8000 knots per dm2.
