A diamond set gold and carnelian signet ring.
German, late 18th century.
The bezel measures 1.35 x 1.34cm and the ring is a size N UK / 6 1/2 US.
The carnelian is carved with an intaglio representing the coat of arms of its intended owner.
The stone is set in an unusually shaped bezel in the form of a flower and is flanked by silver set table cut diamonds on a gold band decorated and pierced with scrollwork. The reverse of the bezel is finely decorated with a bunch of flowers.
