Large oval medallion in white marble carved in relief representing a profile of a young woman in the style of cameos.
a very beautiful large medallion, the carving details are remarkable with a beautiful female face and very elaborately styled hair, the profile turned to the left.
the sculpture in high relief stands out strongly from the very thick support itself.
the profile is signed C.L. on the neck of the young woman and dated on the back of 1874.
a very beautiful female profile with a hairstyle adorned with rows of pearls, reminiscent of the fashion under Napoleon of his profiles of famous women such as the Countess of Castiglione who liked to be photographed in this way and other famous women of that time.
we already find at the end of the 18th century wax profiles on slate of Queen Marie-Antoinette wearing elaborate hairstyles adorned with pearls.
