"Chiffonier Furniture Louis XV Period"
Large chest of drawers from the Louis XV period stamped Denis Genty inlaid in kingwood leaf. It opens on the front with fifteen drawers in five rows fitted with fixed pull handles as well as very beautiful falls with floral decoration and gilt bronze clogs. Like the drawers, the top is inlaid with butterfly wings. Denis Genty, received Master on March 13, 1754, enjoyed a great reputation among a wealthy clientele of aristocrats. He makes extensive use of inlaid leaf veneer, always executed with great care. We find a piece of furniture of similar construction with identical handles in the Art and Manner of French Cabinetmakers in the 18th century by Jean Nicolay, Pygmalion edition, 1976 on page 202.
