He was born in 1931 into a family of craftsmen from Lorraine. His creative and artistic legacies have been of great influence on his work. At the age of 11 he executed drawings and illustrations which are proof of great sensitivity and great talent. Charoy settled on the Montmartre hill in 1955 to learn and work at the Dejoie workshop. He will begin his apprenticeship with lithography and will continue with the study of oil painting.
His collective and personal exhibitions will multiply in France and abroad: Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Osaka, Basel, Dusseldorf, etc.
