Officer's sword, model 1821, 19th century. Blade bearing the markings: "LIBERTE ORDRE PUBLIC" on one side and "NATIONAL GUARD" on the other. Supplier: "MANCEAUX" (former production manager of the Manufacture de Versailles). Montmorency blade with hollow sides and flat back with 1 cutting edge with pointed counter edge. Blade engraved on both sides with floral motifs and "NATIONAL GUARD" - "LIBERTE ORDRE PUBLIC". Blade stained with traces of oxidation (see photos). Brass frame with 1 side branch and narrow top, quillon and cap with beads, all chiseled with laurel and acanthus. Leather fuse, watermark absent.
