"Marble And Bronze Fireplace Trim, Art Deco - 1940"
Mantelpiece set consisting of a large pendulum accompanied by two cassolettes in pink and sea green marble. This octagonal clock made of pink and green veined marble has a dial of the same shape in chromed metal appearing in relief and bearing the mark “Nantes Valley”. The mechanism with its pendulum and its key is in perfect working order. The whole is supported by the wings of two Sphinxes in patinated bronze. Each rests on a rectangle of veined pink marble, supported by a large octagonal base made up of two brilliantly colored marbles, the corner of which is embellished with a bronze rosary. This large clock resting on eight bronze feet is surrounded by two storage compartments of the same taste. These cassolettes, laminated with sea green and veined pink marble, benefit from lightly worked bronze canted legs ending in a collar. The alliance of marble and bronze, its large size and its ornamentation make this fireplace set a unique work full of presence and elegance. ******** Period: 1940 Additional photos available by clicking on the following link: https://www.antiquites-lecomte.com/boutique/horloges-et-pendules/garniture-de-cheminee-en-marbre -et-bronze-art-deco-1940 Shipping possible by Colissimo with suitable protection Dimensions: Pendulum: Height: 33 cm Width: 60 cm Depth: 19 cm Cassolettes: Height: 17 cm Width: 15 cm Depth: 15 cm Total weight: 22 kg Ref: 676 S
