Jean-Baptiste VALADIÉ (born in Brive-la-Gaillarde, in 1933) is a French painter, sculptor, engraver, draftsman, lithographer and illustrator. He took his first artistic steps in Paris at the Cours Charpentier, in Montparnasse. Then, for four years, he studied Applied Arts (graduating in 1955), while he also exercised his talents as a designer around the Place du Tertre. A great traveler, it was in 1956 that he signed his first exhibition in Dakar (Senegal). In 1960, during his military service, he exhibited in Algiers. Many exhibitions followed in France (Paris, Cannes, Lyon…) and all over the world: South Africa, England, Australia, United States, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium…
