Circa 1920 Island of Jerba - South Tunisia Two beautiful and precious extremities of silk Foutah in golden thread brocade, reserved for the ceremony of the nuptial unveiling of the 7th day on the island of Jerba. Clever weaving on a very supple and fine silk arm loom and golden threads. Striped graphic of Arab-Andalusian Jewish star motifs. Rare document for a Berber decorative project, framing, cushions or other. Weaknesses especially on the edge with some micro cracks to consolidate. Very moving ! Stable state of conservation and color, to be doubled if necessary. Dimensions: two pieces 132 cm wide by 91 cm high.
