He was a pupil in 1895 of Paul Sain, then of Cormon in Paris. He obtained a travel grant in 1911.
He was a member in Paris of the jury committee and of the Salon d'Automne.
From 1945 to 1959, he was curator of the Museum of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. He exhibited in Paris at the Salon d'Automne in 1901, with a View of the Pont du Gard, acquired by the State.
He showed his works in various galleries such as Georges Petit and Cambacérès in Paris. A retrospective of his work was presented in Amsterdam in 1930. Winner of the Institute, Knight of the Legion of Honor, he was made an officer in 1932.
He produced two panels with Paul Sain for the buffet at the Gare de Lyon in Paris . He participated in the decoration of the liner Bernardin-de-Saint-Pierre
