"Dancing Faun - Bronze After The Antique -"
"Dancing Faun" The original was discovered in 1830 in Pompei; it is a Greek sculpture dating from the 1st-2nd century BC. Here is a reproduction made around the middle of the XX of good quality. The cast iron and patina respect the spirit of the original and its size highlights the movement of this dancing faun. The sculpture rests on a square base of great rigor which underlines the sensuality of the dance of our subject (26.5 x 26.5 cm). Note a slight play in one of the bindings.
