Old & large terracotta bust depicting Diana the Huntress. Mythological decor after the work of Jean Antoine Houdon (1741-1828) In mythology Diana is the goddess of the hunt and of the night. She is represented wearing a tunic and crowned with a crescent moon on her head. This large neoclassical bust measures 69cm in height. In good condition, to report an old restoration at a point of the crescent moon. Jean-Antoine Houdon, passionate about the art of casting, himself produced two large bronzes of Diane at the Roule workshops in Paris, one in 1782, the other in 1790 Period End of the 19th century Circa: 1890
