Small "selfish" jug in solid silver, from the 18th century.
Model called marabout.
Plain, it is engraved with an escutcheon with intertwined initials surmounted by a laurel wreath.

M.O : Jean-Simon PONTANEAU.

He was apprenticed to Pierre GERMAIN in 1761 in Paris.
He was received master in Paris in 1776.

Height: 11 cm / Weight 157 g.
Ebony handle glued on the upper part (see photo). Charge hallmarks, jurande (O), master goldsmith, discharge and Paris countermarks on the throat of the lid.
